Janine Thomas received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education (Magna Cum Laude) from Millersville University. She currently holds the position of Principal Clarinet with the Harrisburg, Lancaster and Reading Symphonies. An extremely versatile musician, she also performs regularly in the Fulton Theater pit orchestra on clarinet, bass clarinet, piccolo, flute, alto flute, soprano sax, alto sax, and tenor sax. She maintains a private teaching studio at the Lancaster Conservatory of Music. Ms. Thomas has performed concertos by Mozart and Finzi in Reading, Debussy’s Première Rapsodie and the Copland Clarinet Concerto in Harrisburg, and the Artie Shaw Concerto, Mendelssohn’s Concert Piece No. 1, Strauss’s Duet Concertino, and Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for Winds in Lancaster. In addition, she has performed Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro with the Ying Quartet on the Market Square Concerts Series in Harrisburg. On the Stuart and Friends Series she has performed Schubert’s The Shepherd on the Rock and Mozart’s Quintet for Piano and Winds. A cat lover, Janine has nine cats and feeds at least thirty more on a nightly basis!
