2019/20 POPS SERIES
POPS concerts, sponsored by Capital BlueCross, are performed at the Forum. There are five POPS concerts throughout the season, and each concert is performed twice – Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 3 PM. The POPS series brings contemporary, popular works to the symphony.

Aretha! a Tribute with
Capathia Jenkins & Ryan Shaw
To open our Pops season we bring back HSO favorite, Capathia Jenkins, along with three-time Grammy Award nominee Ryan Shaw, for this high energy tribute to the Queen of Soul. The show will include such iconic hits as Respect, Think, A Natural Woman, Chain of Fools, and many others.

Michael Cavanaugh Tribute to the Great Song Writers
Michael Cavanaugh returns to Harrisburg to perform favorite songs by the likes of James Taylor, Neil Simon, Lennon & McCartney, and Neil Diamond. In a nod to the holidays, the show will also include Michael’s inimitable rock versions of familiar songs of the season.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific: In Concert
South Pacific was a smash hit when it opened on Broadway in 1949 and has captivated audiences in countless revivals and tours ever since. Stuart Malina leads two concert performances of this Rodgers & Hammerstein classic that includes such immortal songs as Bali Ha’i, Younger Than Springtime, and Some Enchanted Evening.

Lisa Vroman Sings Broadway
The San Francisco Chronicle described Lisa Vroman as “a musical and theatrical marvel.” Come hear one of Broadway’s biggest stars and most versatile singers as she joins Stuart and the HSO for an evening of musical theater classics including songs by Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Tribute to John Williams
The HSO pays tribute to the most celebrated film composer of the last 50 years. Stuart will choose some of his personal favorites from the composer’s astounding list of credits that include some of the most popular and critically acclaimed film scores ever written, from Jaws and Star Wars to E.T. and Harry Potter.
