We know you’ve been waiting patiently to hear how the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra will bring the joy of symphonic music to our patrons this fall. In the next day or two you should receive a letter explaining the current status of our 2020-2021 season and how it will affect your current or pending season subscriptions.
Maestro Stuart Malina is busy planning a different kind of season to present to you, one that will continue to be filled with artistry and innovation. While the 2020-2021 season will be A Season Like No Other, our goal is to surprise and delight you in a format that optimizes all of the safety precautions recommended to protect public health.
As a result of indoor capacity restrictions and public health guidance, the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra will not be performing at The Forum Building through December 2020. That doesn’t mean we won’t be back in our favorite venue, but not until after the Governor’s restrictions are modified.
Instead, the HSO will be taking our fall 2020 concerts to new venues throughout the Harrisburg area. These concerts will be made available to patrons in a digital format, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home.
In addition, Maestro Malina is moving the musical programming that was previously announced for the 2020-2021 season to the 2021-2022 season. This decision is based upon the musical selections that are best suited to a full orchestra in a live setting. Protecting the health of our musicians and as well as you, our patrons, remains our top priority. Programming updates will be posted to our website, HarrisburgSymphony.org in the coming days and weeks.
Based upon what we now know about current guidance; we are taking the following steps for the 2020-2021 season:
●Transferring all paid season ticket orders for the 2020-2021 season to the 2021-2022.
●Season Ticket holders who choose this option will receive the following added benefits:
►Receive a FREE subscription to all HSO digital content for the 2020-2021 season.
►Have exclusive access to single ticket sales for available seats should in-person concerts be permitted later in the season.
►Retain their current seat assignments for the 2021-2022 season
For those patrons who have not yet renewed their subscriptions for this season, we would like to reassure you that we will not release your seats and they will be waiting for you should you choose to subscribe again for the 2021-2022 season.
The letter that you receive will have an attached form allowing you tell us how you would like to handle your subscription package(s). We ask that you complete the form and return to our office using the supplied envelope.
In the meantime, we continue to explore new and innovative ways to safely bring the Orchestra’s 2020-2021 season of music to the community. Thank you for your loyal support and continued patience as we adjust to our changing world.
We miss you!
